The landscaper will provide Four Diamond service with attention to detail, quality, and consistency. The landscaper maintains the exterior grounds and courtyard in impeccable condition at all times by proactive care of all property landscaping, implementation of pest management and weed abatement programs, regular monitoring of irrigation system and all necessary cleaning and maintenance related to the landscape of the property.

SKILLS AND Qualifications:

Essential:

1) Possess a positive, outgoing and friendly personality.

2) Understands irrigation system, horticulture, local climatic trends, and local pests including weeds.

3) Has two-years or more of field experience in commercial landscaping.

4) Knowledge of proper chemical handling.

5) Understanding of different types of personal protective equipment (PPE) and when to use them.

6) Ability to apply basic concepts of arithmetic especially as they pertain to weights and volumes.

7) Ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.

8) Ability to learn and retain what you have learned and apply it to the job at hand.

9) Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

10) Ability to troubleshoot problems, evaluate situations, and determine effective and efficient resolutions.

11) Ability to properly use a wide variety of landscaping tools including but not limited to weed whacker, gas powered blower, chain saw, pole saw, hedge trimmer, and pruning shears.

12) Exercise good judgment and be a clear thinker in pressure situations.

13) Ability to focus and give attention to details.

14) Ability to follow directions and work without direct daily supervision.

15) Ability to work well with a team.

Desirable:

1) Experience in the hospitality industry or equivalent.

2) Basic ability to communicate in the English language. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

3) Higher level education and/or experience landscaping or horticulture.

4) Certified lift operator (forklift, scissor lift, boom lift)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

4) Monitor irrigation controls and adjust zones as needed.

5) Implement a weed abatement program.

6) Quickly diagnose and address any pest issues.

7) Trim trees and hedges for optimum health and appearance.

8) Prune plants for optimum health and appearance.

9) Efficiently process and prioritize tasks.

10) Remain attentive to guests, continually serving them to exceed their expectations.

11) Display work habits that promote accident prevention.

12) Handle chemicals in accordance with OSHA regulations and hotel requirements.

13) Ensure equipment and tools are functioning properly.

14) Report maintenance needs promptly.

15) Communicates to the Supervisor the need for tools, supplies, materials or training to enable the execution of exceptional work.
